Running into a weird issue with clothes on my rigged model

Hello everyone! I’ll go ahead and preface this by saying I’m not the best at Blender, truth be told I’m just trying to get some basic graphics for my video game so I’m not trying to get too deep into it.

Anyways, with that said, I’m having an issue with my model. I created a character model from a prefab supplied by Blender and have rigged it for animating. That part works great, but now I have created some clothes for the character to wear and this is where I’m running into issues. I tried transferring data properties and while it works well for the pants, the shirt does not appear to be working as intended and the cuffs become rotated at a 45 degree angle. Here is an example of the issue

If anyone could help me with this I’d greatly appreciate it. If you need to see the file, you can download it from here: https://filebin.net/m8mve91k0mk4oz49 . (I tried to upload it as an attachment but it won’t allow me to do so).

I’m pretty sure it’s because your rig isn’t at it’s default pose when you’re doing the transfer. When I cleared transformations on the rig, modified the shirt so the sleeves were on the arms, and did the weighing it worked pretty well. Not perfect, there’d still be manual clean up to do, but no strange rotation.

You may also want to put your armature deform modifier before your subsurf. As is, the armature has to deform the subdivided version, and that can cause problems.

Thank you so much, I never would have figured it out! I’ll get to work on that in a little bit and hopefully it’ll fix it!
