Running out of time

I’m very new to both blender and 3d modelling bare that in mind when commenting my work, I would love to get some tips but I might not understand what you are trying to say at once so I might ask some questions on how to do what you suggest.

Anyway, here’s what I’m working with, I’m calling it “Running Out of Time”.

I would love feedback and tips how to improve it as mentioned above.

Hugs.

It’s a good start but i think you need to add in something like skirting boards so the wallpaper isn’t touching the floor. Also the cracks seem to be very jagged so maybe you should soften them out a bit. Plus you may also want to use the cloth physics for the rug on the floor. Maybe you might want to add something else to the wall such as a painting.

This is all in my opinion and i am no expert either.

Those are all very good ideas, I’ll see what I can do

I am no expert either, but it seems to bright to me. The walls stick out to much. What are you using for the lighting? I would recommend using ambient occlusion with just one light…an area light or a lamp. Other than that your materials look good. I have to agree with Radioactive123 on the rug and the cracks. Not that they are too jagged just something isn’t right and I cant put my finger on it yet…I would add some cross supports to the chair legs…and if that was a “TRUE” tiled floor it wouldn’t crack so perfectly…just take that into consideration, each tile would also crack in their own way…I wish you the best of luck! and WELCOME TO BLENDER!

I like the concept. However, i see no shadows and you should turn on Enviromental Lightning and Ambient occlusion.

Thanks for all the feedback, I’ll work on it and post again here later!

Welcome to blender!^^

So :
-I see no shadows for the objects, I think it’s weird… Check your lightning settings (use lamps/sun, no emit) and make sure you use raytracer & shadows on the render buttons .

-the chair’s polygons stand out, add a subsurf modifier or, if it looks no good, add subdivisions manually. You might want to try “bevel” too (as modifier, or as a tool accessed by hitting W while in edit mode, it seems the latter is not available in 2.54 beta though)

I can see flat faces on the clock’s curved parts (undesired discontinuities on the brightness of faces). Setting those faces as “smooth” (not all the clock, just those faces) would help. There’s also the “autosmooth” feature which can do that but I personally never use it…

Keep going!
