Runtime problem

When I tried to create a standalone runtime, firstly I received an error message that the runtime was not found. The file was created anyway, but this file cannot be deleted!

So now I have a test.exe file which I can’t remove from my system. When I try I get the message the file is being used by another person or program, which doesn’t seem to be possible. I’ve rebooted many times since the file was created and it always gives the same message.

Anyone else encountered this before?

You can only save runtime.exe when u are in Blender 2.25
I’ve had that problem lately

to get rid of that test.exe just restart your computer and it will close the
programs that are using that file…

I hope this helps u

Why isn’t 2.28c able to create runtimes?

Why isn’t 2.28c able to create runtimes?

because blender 2.26 and higher isn’t have runtime.
it only have buttons, that seams like a runtime options and if you have 2.25 with key, in 2.28 menu file schows runtime options, but only shows.

see http://www.blender.org/docs/UI/ui_redesign2.html

Actually, 2.28c CAN create working runtimes. Just copy the blender Player.exe into the blender 2.28c directory and then select create runtime while in blender 2.28. You have to set all the settings in 2.28c, and you can’t really do a test play before you compile it, but you can do it.

Also, use this script to create runtimes for us folk on Linux & OSX systems.
