(Detritus) #2

WOW! :o Is that made in Blender?

(kevin3d) #3

No…He started in Infini-D, though he may have “upgraded” to carrara.

I suspect it could be done in blender, & his approach/philosophy is certainly in line with this community.

Its a great effort

(sten) #4

why do you think it was made in blender, just because
this was posted in the forum, well I saw that clip,
really well done !!

(valarking) #5

hmm, perhaps because this is a forum used by the BLENDER COMMUNITY? hmm?

(SatoriGFX) #6

That’s easy. He thought it was Blender because he took the time to look at the pretty pictures but was too lazy to read the text below them which tells exactly what software was used.

Satori.

(sten) #7

LOL

hehe…

(Detritus) #8

sniff Why do you all have to be so blunt? :frowning:

“why do you think it was made in blender, just because

As Valarking said, it´s a freaking Blender-community? What did you think?

Or were you just jealus that I commented it first? :stuck_out_tongue:

(SatoriGFX) #9

I never assume. Yes, it’s a Blender community. But it’s a community of people interested in 3d graphics, in general. So, many of us are interested in seeing work done in “any” packeges. Because of that, you will often see links to work done in other packages.

Jealus? No, not jealus. Not “jealous” either :). Just amazed that you took the time to look at the Rustboy images but rather than reading the text that accompanied those images you decided to come back to this forum and ask what software was used. You could have had the answer in about a minute if you had simply looked yourself.

great answer…never be to quick to assume something !

I thought Rustboy was well known so I hesitated at posting anything about it. The Apple feature had a few sequences I had not seen before.
Very nice.

Below is link to the Rustboy site. A great deal can be learned from Mr. Taylor’s techniques. I visit almost daily. Rustboy was also featured in Entertainment Weekly Magazine (July 28/July5 issue).
www.rustboy.com

Another good site if you have not seen it is Lots of Robots.
This site is also incredible and he offers explanations of his techniques.

LOR is very interesting visually…though the story line kinda drags & the overall pace is a bit slow.

Some shorts with a different sense of pacing are:

(nerddogs) #13

Wow what a coincidence. I was checking out rustboy today when I was looking at Carrara.
On the grasshopper pick “cricket” how could you blur the grass bades in the foreground in Blender? Also has anyone used Carrara before?

(kevin3d) #14

I’d also be interested in knowing if anyone has used carrara…

(Detritus) #15

To ztonzy and SatoriGFX:
Do you have some kind of personal aversion to me, or why are you all so mean? I just looked at the images, Ididn´t read the goddamn text! Do you have to bullie me just because of that? We all do misstakes, noone is perfect!

“I never assume.”
Man, that´s a hard way of living. I guess it´s pretty though to plan your economy without assuming tha you´ll get payed at your work…

And SatoriGFX, don´t fucking call me lazy. You don´t now shit about me. Don´t ever call me lazy. you fucking moron. You don´t know me at all. Just shut the fuck up!

(sten) #16

well Detritus…

it was nothing personal against you,
just a fact that if you look carefully you mostly get your answer…

and by the fact of your language in here by using all these F-words,
makes me wonder how old and mature you are…

welcome back when you don’t take stuff that personal and use nicer
language, I guess if you were at blenderchat you might get kicked
for that reason…

have a nice day…

(Detritus) #17

I´m fourteen. How old are you? It´s not mature, nor funny picking at every word or misstake someone does. I really do apologize for misspelling jaelus. It seems like it disturbed you alot…
How do you think I should take being called lazy without any reason? Of course I take it personal! There´s no other way! I really don´t think that anyone who doesn´t know me should call me lazy! I work my hands to the bone fighting fascism in Karlskrona (Since you live in Sweden you might have heard about the fact that NSF is rather strong here?)!

And ztonzy, who do you think you are? You´re definitly not authorized to tell me whether I´m welcome or not.

“I´m fourteen. How old are you? It´s not mature, nor funny picking at every word or misstake someone does. I really do apologize for misspelling jaelus. It seems like it disturbed you alot…”

I only did that because you were being a little baby about the whole thing. Should I get my little violin out now? Would you like some cheese with that “whine”?

“How do you think I should take being called lazy without any reason? Of course I take it personal! There´s no other way! I really don´t think that anyone who doesn´t know me should call me lazy! I work my hands to the bone fighting fascism in Karlskrona”

How should you take being called lazy? Maybe you should stop and consider “why” I called you that. There “was” a reason to call you that. You admit you looked at the images but never bothered to read the text. Then, a few seconds later, you are in here posting asking if Blender was used to create the images. You were either lazy (not necessarily all the time, but in this case anyhow) or very thick. Why should someone spend their time answering your question when the answer was right there on the page with the images? Apparently, you think that’s just fine. You probably are thinking “Why should I read all that text when I can just ask someone else to do it for me?”.

SatoriGFX.

I work my hands to the bone fighting fascism in Karlskrona (Since you live in Sweden you might have heard about the fact that NSF is rather strong here?)!

hey, I am not judging you that hard, and 2nd , Iknow that it is strong there…and that you do something about it is great , I love you for that…keep up the good work…

you got my support…about that fact…lets now end this flamewar !!!

(sten) #20

hey Detritus !

sorry if I stirred you up that much…lets all be friends instead,
love to the people !!
