I know it’s not entirely realistic, but there was just something about this image that just looks cool to me.
I made the texture and bump map in GIMP for windows, and then modeled it up in Blender and did some raytracing to get the nice shiny shaft. (that sounds sick). I know the shaft isn’t rusted, but they are usually stainless steel !

The bump map needs “sharper” edges at the spots that need to be rasied, I accidentally used a soft brush when I made it. And the motor holes on the back need to be darker, or have a fake rotor assembly in them. Oh, end the “metal stamp” on the side needs text. I would have had text already but the GIMP acts up sometimes and won’t let me write out text, so I have to wait till later.
I still think this looks kinda cool tho.
