Samsung E250

Hey everyone! Happy New Year!

To kick off 2025, I’m excited to share my latest project, which I’ve been working on for the past couple of months.

This 3D model of the Samsung E250 is a personal tribute to my very first mobile phone, a device that still holds a special place in my heart. Released in the mid-2000s, the Samsung E250 was a sleek, stylish feature phone with a timeless design that continues to impress me even today!

I’ve put together a photorealistic render, along with some artistic variations where I experimented with different ideas and concepts:

Here’s a side-by-side with a clay render:

Here’s a closeup of the model:

Different color variations:

And finally, some artistic renders with light leak effects!

Let me know which one you like the best! I cannot wait to hear your thoughts!

Best regards,
Stefan

Nice - I had that phone! I’m pretty sure it predates usb keys though

Alright, let’s go! A fellow ‘Fun Club’ member, I see – nice! I’m glad you liked it, thanks! :raised_hands:

As for the USB timeline, I’m not entirely sure, but I do remember USB flash drives being pretty widespread by the time I had the phone. That personal sense of nostalgia and the tech of the time, as I remember it, is what I was aiming to capture with this project!

Impressive! The detail and lighting are spot on. Especially love the morning lighting and the play with the shadows. Really inspiring!

Like the last 2 renders. I had one of those sliding phones in my early childhood. Nice work all in all!

Thank you! The last two are actually the first ones I created, so I’m really glad they resonated with you! Those flip and sliding phones from the past had so much more character in their designs compared to today’s modern phones!

Thank you so much! I still have mine too, and it looks and works just as well as the day I got it! I’m also holding onto a few other phones that have managed to survive being used. We’re too attached to throw them away, maybe they’ll end up in a museum someday!

Thanks! It was a bit tricky to implement, so I’m glad to hear how much you liked it and that I was able to pull it off!

yes, I understand. For example Ive lost my favorite phone from the period then I was a teen, I had a sony ericsson k300i... Damn...that one was my favorite phone ever. small but powerful for its price category. I`m sure it wold work perfectly still up to today, only the buttons were washed away from non stop gaming java games

I’m sorry to hear about your lost phone, but I’m happy that my post encouraged so many people across different platforms to reminisce about the “good old days.” That was exactly my intention! It’s a little surreal to already think of them as “old times.” Your comment about gaming really unlocked a flood of memories for me, it hit me with a wave of nostalgia!

Yeah… Actually I do not want to sound like an old fart, but back in those days phone design was much more creative. Before every phone manufacturer stuck on the iPhone like rectangular screens with touchscreen every model of every brand before it was something new, something often unique, new form factors, new designs, every phone was a surprise. Although I love my modern rectangular smartphone, I kind of miss the days then every phone was a piece of art from the design perspective. :pensive:
