I want to make sand like in this picture but don’t know how i pretty sure it has something to do with particles but thats about it so if any could point me in the right direction that would be great.:yes:

That is most likely not particles, but probably a displacement mapped surface with a sand texture on it.

A quick search on TurboSquid found me this free texture, although you have to register to download. link This particular one is not tileable, but it is quite big so hopefully you shouldn’t need to.
You can probably make a pretty convincing one with procedurals, too…
Just want to say that it is indeed a good idea to use some simple modelling, maybe using the fractal subdivide function, and some procedural textures like noise / stucci or whatever as bump / displacement maps. Particles would be overkill, I guess…
