Here is my entry for this years Blender Guru Christmas Competition. Its been good fun to make, and i believe that its better than my entry from last year (which is what i set out to achieve) 
800 samples, around 30-40mins rendering on a GTX 460…I won’t win, but its the taking part that counts!! Merry Christmas Everyone!

I quite like your tree, the beads stand out as obviously not how they’d sit on a real tree but quite like the way they ‘flow’.
The piece of wood above the fire would look great with some stockings hung up!
Maybe some colour adjustment to make the scene feel warmer?
I was going to add stockings but weren’t sure if they would over clutter the scene…Thanks for your suggestions 
The captioning of this picture is misleading. When I saw the words I was expecting Santa to be there. He is absent in this scene.
