Sapling add-on - problem with leaves distribution

I’m having a problem with the sapling tree generator. It seems that most leaves are always at the top of the tree and I am unable to provide the lower part with enough branches without changing the shape of the tree.

The split option for each level of branches is pretty crucial for ash trees, but it generates a lot more banches at higher level of the tree, because they split again and again, thus making more branches for the next level of branches to grow upon, so you can see they clump at the top, but without the split, the tree loses this shape.

It would be nice to be able to set a decline in the split option, don’t know if that would be possible.

This is the most common shape of an ash tree.: http://extension.entm.purdue.edu/EAB/images/Number%208%20dying%20ash%20trees.jpg

Here is the preset for the tree, so you can check it out yourself: http://www.pasteall.org/46472/python

I know there is an excess of level 4 branches and that they should be thicker, but by disabling them, the lower part of the tree has pretty much no leaves and the leaves on the whole tree are not so evenly d

search recent posts in the support section. a guy recently had the same question, and he worked it out by changing the values in the script. just in the past few days, so shouldn’t be too hard to find.

I couldn’t find that thread, but I managed to solve it somehow.

I changed the split levels, number of branches and resolution (basically pretty much everything there is to change).

Can I mark the thread as [SOLVED] somehow?

Here is my preset for the final tree, and an image:

my mistake. the thread in question was regarding ivy gen, not sapling. glad you figured it out though.
