Saucer: Blender Internal Material, UV & Lighting study.

My focus is game-ready assets so I wanted to learn BI so I could do quick renders of game-ready assets to show them off. I have general competency with Unity, so I should be able to put some good stuff together eventually.

This is my first 3D render to fully incorporate multiple per-object UV’s, transparency, multiple light sources (spot, emissive and indirect raycasting), gimp-generated diffuse & normals as well as procedural textures.

Actually one of the “best” textures I generated for this project isn’t that visible, the interior under the glass bubble. It was based on open cc art so I can include it. Sometimes a small change can do a lot for a texture.

After checking out the art on this forum I felt like this render deserved some post work in Gimp. A little bit of manual blur, and an additive soft glow brighten the image. Also, I boosted the saturation and rotated the hue to green, which gives the image a higher natural contrast.
