Save Game and Map transfer help

Hello everyone,

I am familiar with most of Blender’s functions and now am learning game development.

How do I code or use blender to save the game?

How can I transfer from one blender map to another blender map?

Also, I heard that I have to convert the game to another format or something. I lost all my old game development data (Luckily, tutorials I needed before are online now), but I saw it on this forum though. Something about copyright issues with the format.

Thank you,
Zuto

Using logic bricks, you can use the Game actuator. In the drop down menu, there is a save game option. I don’t know how it works and what it does exactly, but that may be what you are looking for. As for scripting, you need to use the Python API (for BGE only) to learn that. That is more advanced and much more flexible, as you can choose what you save and what to leave.

One option is to put a map on each scene, and then just transfer the character between scenes (using overlay or change)
You can also simple overlap all the maps onto one layer and make them visible/ghost as needed.

Hope that helps
