Saving default viewport overlays combinations, simple mode

I have to turn on the “Statistics” overlay every time I launch Blender.

This is aggravating. How does one save as default the standard overlay options so they appear every time?

Hi,
Set up an empty scene how you like it then File ‣ Defaults > Save Startup File. The next time you open Blender it will have your preferences.
