saving/reusing composite nodes setup?

I have some complex composite node setup in one of my blend file I want to reuse in many others.

I’ve tried copying the nodes to the clipboard, then pasting from the clipboard in another blend file, didn’t work.
I couldn’t find any “export node structure” option in the Node Editor window.
I can’t find nodes inside blend files when using File->Link/Append.

So what can I do? is there a way to reuse the node setup in another blend file?

Select a range of nodes to reuse (not including source or comp output) then create a group node (ctrl-G). You can name this group node and import it as a scene element into other .blend files. http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.6/Manual/Composite_Nodes/Node_Groups
