Saving video

I must be missing something.

How do you get output from the Sequence editor?

You can input Videos and Jpegs, combine them beautifully. How do you save the resultant Video file?

Press “Do Sequence” in the display buttons, then render.

How silly of me…

I was looking for a button that said something like “save” or “save as…”
:expressionless:

Hey, don’t sweat it. Everyone gets stumped on that one.

i tried it too but everything appears black after i press do sequence :frowning:

Hi Yall.

I’m a Linux Blenderite, still somewhat of an amature but slowly progressing. I’ve done a couple of short animations however I’ve got some problems I don’t know how to deal with. Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing and has a workaround. Here are the problems.

  1. Output to AVI-JPEG is jittery. I don’t know why but my movie file has these big leaves… almost like many frames were skipped. It seems to do this on various movie players (in linux).

  2. Raw AVI displays upside down. The scene plays back perfectly smooth (unlike the AVI-JPEG) but it is upside down and a very huge file.

If anyone knows how to work around these problems. please tell.
Thanks.

fishlet- Upside down! Thats unusual. You could try flipping the camera. As for the size, thats normal. Try converting it to divX, thats what most Blenderheads do. As for the avi-jpg, I havent used that yet so I cant comment.

Is there anything in Blender to directly output to DivX, or do I have to start with raw AVI and then use an external tool. I’m using Linux and the only two video options I see are AVI raw and AVI Jpeg.

re: turning the camera upside down. I guess that may work but would be very hard to preview my work with. I’m surprised if I’m the only one getting that problem.

Use the AVI Codec output.
