Saying hi

Hello elysiun Forums

This is my first post here, more to come.
About myself:
I’m a graphic designer, but i’m mainly working in the 2D Area (Print,Web). I made my first 3D Program experience with Maxon Cinema 4D V 1.5 on my AMIGA Computer. I then upgraded hard- and software, until Cinema 4D reached V 3.0 and they stopped the Developement for the AMIGA Platform  . I always liked to model Characters/Humans but the toolset provided by Cinema 4D V3 was just not good enough to do that. I tried anyways

Here’s a picture i did in Cinema 4D, V3 back in 1997. For giggles:

I now re-descovered 3D with Blender. I didn’t want to buy a pricey 3D Software, since i don’t do 3D Graphics for a living. I’m really impressed by the Blender Software. It takes some time to get into it, but i’m now at a stage where it starts to show its strenghts. I’m also very impressed by the Images that are shown here on these Forums. Very motivating

My first try in Blender (after some tutorials) was to model a head. It looked horribly, but was a good Modeling Practice. I then started several attempts and now i have one i’m quite pleased with:

It’s still in the modeling Stage though

While i modeled the Head, i realised how hard it is to model a Human Ear. After several tries, i came up with the one that can be seen on the image below. I’m quite happy with the result and i’d like to share my Model with the Blender Community.

The Ear-Model ends in 4 Vertices, so you can basically just knock out one Facet of your Head-Model and Merge the 4 Vertices.
You may download and use it freely for your own projects:

Thanks for reading.

Congrats, you have just put yourself on my idol-list. That’s good to be the first thing to post here.

Welcome!

Yes, welcome! I look forward to seeing more of your Blender work. Human ears are definitely not easy modeling subjects, but you’ve done a pretty good job. Enjoy your stay here. I hope it’s permanant.
