Scaling graph view only along y axis

I am using Blender 2.57 on Ubuntu Linux 10.4. Any time I want to edit animation in the graph view, the curves are so wide apart that one can hardly see them, even when the animation is long or I use the graph view in fullscreen mode. Scaling the screen helps, but it scales both axis, is there a way to scale the view in only a particular axis?

I just found out that I can use the CTR + Middle mosuse button an drag along the Y or X axis to zoom in, although this helps, is there another way to zoom in on a particular port of a curve?

Did you try with View-> View Selected (also . on Numpad) ?
