Scaling on an axis, but not towards centre point...

I’ve got a number of point selected, that I want to re-size along the y axis, but rather than all the points re-sizing towards the centre of the points I’ve selected, I want them to resize towards a line level with the uppermost points…

So, if I resize those points it will eventually end up a flat line level with the top points.

How do I go about this?

Scale along the y axis to the cursor as pivot point.

Set the pivot point to 3d cursor, then type s (to scale), y (along y axis) then 0 (that’s a zero) to move them all the way to the cursor’s y position.

Aha, it was setting pivot point to cursor that I needed to do.
