We need a new scene for the BAC#9 so I decided to open a challenge for the next BAC#9 scene.
The following rules apply:
Scene must be suitable for animation (this means short render times on older machines)
No textures
At least one fully rigged character.
The scene must be available under a license permitting its free use for all BAC participants.
The scene must have an associated task (see the last BAC challenges for examples)
The scene must not be original already created scenes may be entered.
This challenge will close in two weeks on the 17th of August at 6:00 pm (18:00) GMT.
I will open a voting thread following that. The winning scene will become the theme for the BAC#9.
The link is down for the BAC#8 file, seeing as it already has three rigs in it could you get that up somewhere again so we can use it as a starting point. I only tried the 2.5 one, but getting the 2.4 up would also help.
I don’t know what is going on with the 2.5 file. They are stored on my 4shared.com account, and when I log in, the file is listed as being there, but yea, can’t download it. The 2.49b file appears to work and can be downloaded. As for the 2.5 file, FeelGoodComics discovered his character Nathan didn’t work properly, fixed the file, and hosted it. Link to a working 2.5 file can be found in the 3rd post from the BAC 8 thread…
I think I have an idea, Lightsaber Combos (like most creative thing to do with it), or something like that. Sound good? I shall start making it, do we need to make it for 2.49 and 2.5?
Alright, here’s my entry. A new character - Joe - that I’ve been working on and the scene will be a walking a tight rope. Here is the current state of things, the character is almost completed, right now I am just checking the rig for bugs. The scene needs a little bit of lighting work. I would say the base file is 95% complete, just a few touch ups I want to make before I post it. I’m also playing with ideas on an easy way to make the balancing bar and the character’s hands work well together so it will be easy to animate.
As I said, the base file is not complete, the character will be finished before the voting ends. It’s up to Musk as to if you want to include this in the voting.
