Wow, I haven’t posted anything here in ages. Howdy, BlenderArtists!
I just thought I’d post up my latest project. It’s the cover art for a Creative Commons sci-fi novel I’m self-publishing next month, and Blender was used both to model and render the mushroom cloud featured in the image. The rest was accomplished with a combination of Photoshop.and Illustrator.
I also put together a book trailer in a mad rush Sunday night using Blender, and… well, I’ll admit that it’s not exactly the apex of animation as an art form. It’s basically the first animation I’ve produced, and that’s the excuse I’m sticking to.
I was going to embed the Youtube video, but I can’t figure out how to do that. Instead, you can check it out at my Kickstarter project, which is what the trailer was produced for.
The Kickstarter project (a sort of fundraiser) is running right now, and one of the rewards I’m offering supporters is a collection of all of the source files, including the Blend files that were used to produce this cover, as well as the files for a few other cover designs which didn’t make the cut.
Wow, if I saw that sitting in a bookshelf/shop Id definitely have to pick it up and see what its about.
Nice work, love the colour range from top to bottom and the visuals are pretty stunning. You can tell right away that its Sci-Fi, mostly from the circuit looking bits, oh and the title, and the explosion… and the planet.
