wow that is great i mean awsome…
im speachless…
Great cloth! But his calves are too small. It’s far from perfect but it is truly excellent.
Calves too small.
Biceps too small.
Head too small.
Great work.
I think the muscles may be ok. Its hard to tell with the lighting. You need to get some brighter lights in there! The posture looks wrong. There is not curvature in the spine except at the head, which juts out like a person with back problems.
too dark to tell anything funny.
Yeah Saxofoner91 the biceps could be bigger… and I do know that an average human is 7-8 heads tall, but I’m going for a “heroic” kind of 9-heads tall caricature character.
Good point womball… but suppose it is a character that has been fighting in war far away from home for many years and is tired of it all.
But I’ll look into it and that ambient occlusion thingie when I get back to my computer.
Thanks for the feedback guys
Any comments on how the armor looks? And the practicality of it?
He would still have an S curv in his back profile wise. If he didn’t he wouldn’t be a soldier. The don’t’ usually recruit people with bad back problems. Soldiers tend to be in excellent physical shape. His current posture is that of an old man. Even if he is tired maintain a strong S shape in the spine. I would take a picture of yourself attempting a slumped over pose to see how your spine reacts. Also when you slump over from exhaustion, you limit the mobility of your shoulder. Your arms would hang forward.
Very good work so far. I just wanted to second what Womball is saying and to suggest that you model your character (and future models) in a more “neutral” pose (meaning, easy to rig). After you have modelled and rigged him you can pose him any way you like. If you model into the character a specific stance you run the risk of strange deformations if you ever what to rig and repose later…
i’m certianly not an expert in characters or anything, but his head seems really far forward, and his neck looks like it comes out at a funny angle. oops, i just read wormball’s post. I agree with him i guess. looking great though…
