I’m already pretty much done with modelling (the main body needs some more work though), however, I’d really like to get some feedback before I start the final touches.
First off, I used a reference pic for this one, from which I got the basic design and some ideas but most of the details are my own (actually the whole main body is my own concept) and therefore some help and comments are greatly appreciated.
Note that this will be the final pose (that’s almost sure). If you see some major flaws, just tell me and I’ll see what I can do. The only problem I have is that I rotated the whole model, and not the camera %|
Therefore I have some problems with the axes and it’s quite uncomfortable to work with a rotated model (at least for me). But hey, it’s not impossible…
Here are some more poses of the legs (they’re not in their final modelling stage, however - I’ve added more details later on), which allow VERY simple movements. But at least the rigging wasn’t too hard (it is actually my first try on rigging…).
A small but important update - modelling is done now. If you have any comments and critiques on it, please tell me now. And in case you wonder what I’ve actually added, the front now has some lights and holes for some plugs that can be attached to the robot.
Same thing I thought when seeing this - but the robot which gave me the basic idea doesn’t have a tail either. And they say it’s a scorpion - like robot…can’t show the pic though, as it is a picture from a magazine and my scanner can’t scan it (it’s too big) =/
Thanks for the input anyway, I’ll probably add some more details to the body, as suggested, but I’m glad that there are no major flaws.
