Script Idea: Import Paths from Illustrator?

Hello!

Just had a thought for a potentially useful Python script that is way outside my ability to handle just now. If someone’s looking for a neat project…

Blender’s NURBS controls are quite good… but Adobe Illustrator’s are better. Could a script be written in Python which would import an .ai file and convert it to a NURBS?

if I remember correctly, Tuhopuu supports textures ins Photoshop’s PSD formats, so maybe the next step is .AI import.

Better yet, how about an import/export svg script. Adobe supports svg, and since Blender is open source, maybe we should stick to the theme.

not sure if this applies to nurbs but atleast to import curves to blender I export the curve made in whatever program to a letter in a custom adobe font. the you can just “write” the curve with the text tool. and after that alt-C or whatever it was to convert to curve.
