Sculpt brushes not working properly on corners where faces normals are almost 90 degrees apart

Hello,

I’m sculpting an armor for a character and I can’t find a way to use the grab brush to deform the whole mesh now… it seems the sculpt brushes are not working properly on corners where face normals are almost 90 degrees apart (see images). I’ve seem people sculpt armors like that and they did not have this kind of problem.

If anyone knows how to make my brushes work in this scenario please enlighten me with your knowledge!

If anyone wants to try sculpting on this shoulder pad armor I’m posting a link on google drive with its .fbx file.

Hey,
There appears to be no problems with the mesh itself.
Under Brush Settings > Advanced are there masking any options enabled like Face Sets?

Hi @stray!

The advanced masking options in the brush menu are all unchecked. And although I used face sets to model this sholder pad I have made them all a single face set with the faceset>faceset from visible command. Where you able to use the grab or any other sculpting brush to change the border dimensions of this mesh?

I just Grabbed the edge of the thing and it didn’t show any issues

If your import your fbx into a fresh file, will it show the same problem? What if import it into the same file?
