Hello All,
I guess this is the right forum section to post this, please direct me if there is a better one. I was looking at this:
http://www.pixologic.com/zbrush/download-center/download-center.php
at the free mesh section down the base of the page and I think this would be a great idea to mimic in order to really kick off Blender’s new sculpt tools usage. I know there’s the Blender Model Repository and people can download them to sculpt up, but my plan is to create a page with low poly human heads, bodies, monsters etc that people can simply practice sculpting on without having to worry about about topology etc as beginners. Sure, it’s important to learn for all modellers, but I reckon it would be great for newcomers to be able to rip straight into Blender in this way. I’d also like to put up some skin shaders and other textures and a few sculpting/texturing tutorials and various light setups.
Why I’m posting the idea before I’ve started the work is for three reasons:
- Do people think this would be a worth while resource?
- Does anyone want to help or donate models?
- Would I accidentally be replicating something that’s already out there?
I’ve got a bit of stuff that I can rework for this sort of thing and I’d try and get something running soon to capitalise on the 2.43 release, but it wont be tomorrow or anything…
Thoughts?
Ben.
