Got kinda bored last week but was about 4 hours away from my computer. Sooo I stopped into the local Microsoft store and occupied their biggest baddest machine for about 6 hours between two days. Here was the result.
No concept art, all out of my head. Largely inspired by a turtle, but also other reptilian influences as well. Just for fun
Yea, I know its possible… but after using a tablet to sculpt since… forever … (I’ve been using a tablet since before I started sculpting)… its REALLY hard to sculpt with a mouse if you’re used to a tablet.
I like your method for using high-end computers - was it Blender on a memory stick or ubuntu on a memory stick? The latter would be even better in a microsoft store.
Not having a tablet yet (planned on my budget for sometime next year), i have great fun with my mouse sculpting sessions in Sculptris.
I wish there was a “microsoft store with their biggest baddest machine” somewhere nearby for sculpting with Blender, as unlike Sculptris it’s not very efficient on my system for the needed level of details
Blender sculpt is never really that efficient compared to programs that are designed JUST for sculpting. Even on these machines here, I have lag with only 2.25 million polys (current project, not that head).
yogyog: I bring it in on my external HDD along with all my files
tyrant monkey: I doubt I will, but if I do I’ll have to finish him out in some sort of space suit or something because once you go multires, you can’t exactly change your base model much (that I know of anyway)
with blender sculpt mode no you can’t easily do it, you can edit your basemesh even with multires on in 2.5xx but I have found it usually goes ape shit. But if you can avoid topology changes around the areas you have already worked on it sort of works.
