Sculpting anomolies

As I work on a sculpt I found that the teeth randomly got some strange artifacts apearing on them. There had been no problem, they were smooth basid shapes prior. Well, I came bak to the mouth area and when I looked at the teeth I saw a weird piece almost exploding off of the tooth. It was sugested to Recalculate the faces so did that. This only made it get far worse. I couldn’t find anything that would fix the tooth. I tried just delet that tooth and mirrored the teeth from other side over. However the Duplicate tooth had exact same issue! it practicly had exploded in artifacts all over to point wasn’t anything I could do. The wire frame shows just fine though.

Does anyone know of this issue or better, how do you fix it when does happen?
