Sculpting with gravity--Most efficient Colliders?

Hi–I’m experimenting with using sculpting brushes with the “Gravity” option turned on, and find it works pretty well. I have found, though, that with “Collision” activated on other objects, while it works sort of OK, the more work done on the sculpts, the more likely the sculpt is to fall through the Collider object. Since I’m trying to sculpt clothes on a figure, this is less than ideal.
Is there a way or a setting configuration that makes the surfaces more resistant to pass through? More geometry? Weaker gravity factor? Do I just have to deal with it and use the gravity only for the inital rough and then do all my finer sculpting without gravity?
Any tips and tricks much appreciated!
