Just noticed ‘Default Attribute’ in the group inputs …
I did not found it in the user manual for Blender 3.4.
( Refering to ‘Node Groups’ section )
So I tried to set
Default Attribute ← Position
or
Default Attribute ← position

Back to Force Fields.
There is the node setup …
You can see that there is a cross product. It helps to turn a radial force to a tangential force. A noise texture creates some variation.
Result … a force field which looks like that.
The image is made of tiny direction vectors.
I renewed my old SDF nodes, to be used with Blender 4.2.
SDF nodes do not have a Position input anymore. Instead, they do have a matrix input.
If a mesh is generated from SDF, the mesh will be clipped on the boundaries.
There is only one node for combining SDF’s , which unifies union/intersection/subtraction and uses a menu.
Matrix sockets are still fields. We could create these
from an n-prism. There is the node graph:
Values for N (NGonal Prism node) used for renders above … 4 , 3 , 6
Now, Vector Field nodes use Matrix nodes too.
Visualize vector field shows different thickness for arrows. It depends on the strength of the force.
A vector field could be visualized using a plane or a volume.
