Sea Com Towers

Sea Com Towers

A piece inspired by the previous Signals weekend project of mine.
Enormous communication towers looming in the distance, shrouded in a coat of mist!

This is such a beautiful scene - so simple in a way but so moody at the same time. Very melancholic. And fantastic use of the fog to give depth.
Both technically and artistically top notch!

Would you mind showing how you set up the fog?

A pure appeasement for introverts.

The lighting, fog and actual ambient is just great. I love it.

My congrats!

Daw thank you so much for the kind words, glad to hear you like it so much ^^
Yeah it was fun to play around with a simple yet rather effective concept, there’s something about massive structures in the distance that just…makes for a very good mood!

And of course!
The fog mostly comes from a big cube enclosing the entire scene with a volume scatter shader attached to it. That combined with an HDRI for the lighting that has been tinted blue/purple-ish

Aaand on top of all that I also painting in some lower fog over the water by hand ^^
Hope that was helpful but if you have any further questions just ask away!

Thankies ^^!

Yeah I really like the calm…almost melancholic mystery mood that I went with.
I’d say the scene makes for a good mystery too!

Like what are these communication towers for? And why are they out in the water like that?
Who knows, maybe a future artwork will dive into that ^^

Yeah, I feel you. As I would say “in the middle of nowhere with a lot of questions”.

Yeah exactly!
Several people have told me that they get a mystery vibe from most of my works in recent months ^^

And I think that’s a huge compliment if my worlds are invoking a feeling of mystery and curiosity in people!

Keep going! It’s worth it
