When I started using Blender a few years ago, I frequently searched the Blenderartists Forum to try and get answers to the many questions I had, but that was a very frustrating experience. It seems that I always got 498 results for every search I made and often could not find the answer I was looking for. Searching Blenderartists Forum directly from within the forum is a complete waste of time.

I just found out a few months ago you can search any website you desire without having to actually be at that site. Here are some examples that will give you very precise results when doing a Google Search.

Google Search:
align objects 2.5 site:blenderartists.org
(122 results)

Blenderartists Forum Search:
align objects 2.5
(500 results)

Google Search:
“align objects” 2.5 site:blenderartists.org
(17 results)

Blenderartists Forum Search:
“align objects” 2.5
(500 results)

Google Search:
“align objects horizontally” 2.5 site:blenderartists.org
(0 results)

Blenderartists Forum Search:
“align objects horizontally” 2.5
(500 results)

Google Search:

(3 results)

Blenderartists Forum Search:

(500 results)

As more people start using the Google method of searching, there should be fewer and fewer redundant questions asked on the forum. That will be a good thing.

very important point,
a lot of people (incl. me myself)
ask questions about already explained ways to use blender.

Its most times only a question about using the right search-words
and success is (already) guaranteed …(?)

should be right below the page-banner in big letters.

Google does search, vBulletin does forums. Having google search integrated into the forum would be great. quicker searches, less load for blenderartists.org and allot less already asked questions.
Google’s search is actually pretty darn good compared to the built in one.
