Hello everyone!
I’ve been working on my second “big” scene for a couple of days now.
Everything has been modeled by myself, same with the texturing. (nothing to be proud of but whatever :D)
(The glass wall to the right was in my old classroom in highschool, if it doesn’t fit into this scene please tell me)
Ideas that I still want to implement:
Add random books on random desks.
Add rows off books on the bookshelf to the right of the blackboard.
Add random stuff into the open space under the desks (not sure what it’s called) like random papers.
Add junk like empty water bottles/paper plains/balls of paper and stuff like that.
Add school bags to each desk. (hopefully a couple of different bags randomized)
Add a projector + make the left side of the blackboard white. (so you can project stuff on there)
Add a computer to the teachers desk + an office chair.
Add lights to the ceiling. (turned off tho)
Add drawings/paintings to the walls.
Add radiators under the windows.
That’s everything for the time being. (I think) I’m not sure yet, but I MIGHT turn this into a post apocalyptic scene in the future.
Advice/ideas/improvements/ANYTHING is as always welcomed and appreciated!
Thanks for reading and commenting.
Looks like it’s going well but since I’m very inexperienced with Blender/modeling in general I don’t have anything constructive to add in that regard. But what are the objects on the ceiling, I assume maybe some sprinklers or smoke detectors?
I just feel like there are too many of them too close together. Maybe they are lights instead?
Why did you render a nightmare LOL,I am not an expert either, but from what i can see, the ground wood have a good material feeling , the texture itself looks really good too! especially where the light is reflecting! The shadows and light looks great in my opinion. The tables especially in the obscurity looks a bit “artificial” tho. And yes the clock is a bit small, the guy is the back of the class needs to see the time too LOL
They were supposed to be lights, was too lazy to add the big lights, but I guess I’ll change it as even my little brother was asking what they were. :x

At first I wasn’t excited to bring back all those school memories either, but I thought it’d be great practice.
I like the floor texture as well, it was actually the first time I had to make the bump map myself. Usually I always just download a normal map but there was non included, was nice to learn how to do it manually.
I’m not quite sure what you mean with the tables being “artificial”, as in the textures, the model itself or just the way they are positioned?
And I’ll increase the clock size I guess. Sadly back when I was in school I was in the last row in the back and we had a small clock, so i thought it was everywhere like this.
Nice going so far, yeah you need to fix those lights , i recall we had those long florescent lamps in a frosted plastic enclosure, try googling some reference photos. You could possibly find some models on blendswap too. The floor tiles look a little big. You can give it a more realistic feel by repositioning some of the tables and chairs, looks way too neat. Try adding a tree just outside the window to break up the shadows a little, that makes it far more interesting if you add some volumetric light thru it.
LOOL i see :D:D. For the tables, i met about the way the tables renders (this doesn’t meen much i know x)), and also the positionning, but actually overaull the tables looks pretty good actually. Listen to the professionals
Yesterday I thought about where I wanted to go with this project and I came up with a plan.
I’ll split this project into 3 phases.
Phase1: First day at school, kids are about to see their new classroom.
Phase2: Middle of the school year, kids have settled in with all their stuff. They are at lunch break so all their stuff is just lying around.
Phase3: During lunch break something bad happened and the world went to shit. A bunch of years later, the classroom is all overgrown with nature, a couple of survivors here and there broke things. Typical post apocalyptic scene I guess.
I won’t be working on phase2/phase3 all the time, It’ll be a long term project (kind of). So don’t expect too many updates.
