second project

hi all… working on my second project as I struggle to learn blender lol.

what I really want to do is make the water not look so flat… any help would be awsome…

1)You could try using a bump map.

Basicly, you select the water, and add a texture (For example, stucky). In the materials window you select the NOR button on the far right and deselect COL. Adjust the NOR slider underneath the buttons to your liking and render.

The darker part of the textures appear lower, while the white part appear higher (They aren’t really higher or lower, it’s faked).

OR

  1. You could select your water mesh. Enter edit mode, press A (Select All), Press W, and Choose fractal subdevide. Make sure you select set smooth or subsurf in the Texture window afterwords (You don’t want pointy water I think).

The bricks look pretty big, make them smaller.
