Seeking Feedback on Yoga 7 2-in-1 for Blender Projects

Hello Blender Community,

I’m considering upgrading my current setup to the Lenovo Yoga 7 2 in 1 laptop and would appreciate your insights on its performance with Blender. The model I’m eyeing features a 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor, 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, and integrated Intel Arc Graphics.

My typical workflow includes modeling, texturing, and rendering, primarily for still images and short animations. I occasionally work with high-poly models and complex scenes. Given the integrated graphics, I’m curious about its handling of GPU-intensive tasks within Blender.

Additionally, the 2-in-1 design and touchscreen capabilities are appealing for sculpting and texture painting. Has anyone utilized the Yoga 7 16 Inch 2 in 1 Laptop touch features with Blender? Does the stylus input offer a smooth experience comparable to traditional graphics tablets?

Battery life is another consideration, as I often work on the go. Reviews suggest it offers substantial usage time, with reports of up to 9 hours during continuous multitasking.

However, I’m interested in real-world experiences, especially during intensive Blender sessions.

Lastly, any insights on thermal performance during prolonged rendering tasks would be valuable. Does the laptop maintain performance without significant throttling or overheating?

I look forward to hearing about your experiences or any recommendations you might have for a laptop suitable for Blender within a similar price range.

Best regards,
Alina

No matter how good a portable device is, it can’t be better than a desktop.
Compare it to the system you are working on.

Quick GPU selection is important if you’re doing tasks that require good GPU performance, such as Sculpture and rendering (portable devices cannot be added or replaced with GPUs, except for some products)

One of the GPU selection criteria is VRAM capacity.

The problem with the product will be difficult to know unless you are a user of the product.
