Select another object without leaving edit mode

As Title, can be select another object without leaving the edit mode? I don’t mean select and edit two distinct object simultaneously , but move to edit another object making inactive the previous one.

In modo can pass to a object to another simply pressing middle mouse button upon the object I want edit.

In Outliner:

Thanks a lot TynkaTopi. I tend to underutilize outliner, but when you have many object (and outliner becoming a mess) can select other object directly into wieport and without leaving edit mode?

In edit mode, Control+RightClick another object. Set outliner type to “Selected” so you can see only selected objects.

See it, nice, but this don’t speedup the process. Selection another objects directly into viewport without passing throught object/edit mode passage should be great.

I don’t mean select and edit two distinct object simultaneously , but move to edit another object making inactive the previous one.

Are you using shortcut key to do that? All it takes is to press [Tab], Select new object, [Tab] in to Edit mode.

Yes and I found it slow the workflow.

“In edit mode, Control+RightClick another object. Set outliner type to “Selected” so you can see only selected objects.”

You are in Edit mode when selecting another object and never leave from Edit mode.

Thanks again TynkaTopi, but this is more time consuming and workflow wise than use exit edit mode, select other object, enter again edit mode

IMO blender workflow is in general very fast and intuitive (after your understood the logic), in this task no. In general I think the separate compartment in blender is a drawback. In modo you have separate tabs for every situation, uvmpa, rendering, retopo, modelling, animation, dynamic. But if I’m in model tab, nothing prohibit me to call and use a move or smooth brush (if I already assigned a shortcut or put it into a pie menu), or using retopo tools (like topo pen) etc. Hope a day this separate compartment will be eliminate for a more unique solution.

but this is more time consuming and workflow

Hot key method Tab / Select / Tab sequence takes less then 1 second for me. How many hundred separate object are you trying to edit all at once?! For big job like that there is Python Scripting you can use.
