Is there a way to select backface culling faces that appear in the camera view?
You could get the viewport’s/camera’s view angle http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9028398/change-viewport-angle-in-blender-using-python (for viewports)
Then transform this angle into a directional vector, then go through all faces, and calculate the dotproduct camera-normal face-normal. If it’s >= 0 that face is not facing the viewport.
