Select displaced vertices from dispalce modifiers


I was wondering if there is a way to select vertices displaced after applying the modifiers stack.
My aim is to make boolean using texture, so selecting black vertices and delete them. On a plane it’s not too complicated but what would be the best approach on complex surfaces ?

You can select them from side view with wireframe view.

FIrst thanks for your answer, this indeed works for simple shape like plane.
But how will you approach this problem on cylinder shaped such as in the image below ?

Perhaps the Smart Select addon could come in handy for a situation like yours
