Select objects in collection using geometry nodes

I don’t know if it’s the correct section, let me know which one is if I’m wrong.

I’m doing some exercise but can’t get the result that I want. Made a couple of hilts and blades, and the idea is to be able to swap and combine them procedurally. For now i’m just using two of each to test. For now it technically works, but it feels I’m using the incorrect nodes, or doing something wrong. Here’s a quick screenshot and the file.

Yeah you’re mixing two techniques, the simplest is to plug the value right into the index slot like so :

Or the other technique is to use the menu switch node, where you can select an entry from the modifier panel :
