Hello everyone!

A new version of Select Pro is ready! This update brings a couple of new features, important fixes, and quality-of-life improvements. One highlight is the **interactive selection grow/shrink operator** , think of it as Blender’s ‘select more’ and ‘select less’ operators combined into a convenient modal, with the added benefit of avoiding empty selections.

![sp-grow-shrink](https://blenderartists.org/uploads/default/original/4X/5/9/3/593e6a8192836d9f0364dcda2fdeb0b5bddd9df0.gif)

We’ve also introduced **the ability to save your double-click operator’s settings** (this is enabled by default, but can be turned off in Select Pro’s preferences). For example, if you double-click an edge to run a contiguous path and then adjust the boundary threshold or toggle an option like “Ignore Marks,” those adjustments will be remembered and automatically applied the next time you double-click. If you’d like to restore the double-click operators to their defaults, you can use the new “Reset Double-Click Defaults” option in the main menu’s options section. You can also hide this options menu from Select Pro’s preferences if you prefer a cleaner interface.

We’ve also addressed several bugs and made other quality-of-life improvements.

**Changelog for version 0.5.2:**

**Features**

- add interactive grow/shrink selection operator and associated prediction
- add select grow/shrink to the double-click operator options
- add an option to remember double-click operator settings for the current session (enabled by default)
- add an options menu to quickly reset double-click operator defaults or reset the predictions cache
- add an option to remove Select Pro’s customisation panel from Blender’s sidebar (N-Panel)
- add option to switch modal speed control key from SHIFT to CTRL and also to complete on mouse release instead of press
- add additional scene tokens for object dimensions, volumes, and materials, and update object predictions accordingly
- add selection ALL/SUBSET tokens and improve associated predictions

**Bug Fixes**

- ensure the keymaps in the Select Pro preferences window retain their modifications on reload
- fix error in contiguous path when traversing non-manifold edges (3+ faces)

Hello everyone!

We’re excited to announce that **Select Pro version 1.0.0 (stable)** has officially launched! Thank you so much for your support, feedback, and ideas throughout the early access period—we truly appreciate it.

**TL;DR: This update introduces smarter edge and face selection, significant performance improvements across the core operator set, and a new sidebar panel that brings all Select Pro tools together. We’ve also enhanced all the modal operators, added a new Smart Edge Select double-click mode, and resolved several small issues. See the changelog below for the rest.**

A few highlights from this release include the new double-click Smart Edge Select option, which automatically runs the connected similar, boundary, or contiguous path operators depending on the properties of the active edge:

![sp-smart-edge-select](https://blenderartists.org/uploads/default/original/4X/f/7/f/f7f51f0a3fa0698e06555cec02aa6f1245075062.gif)

Modal status indicators in the header and footer regions of the 3D viewport, including the ability to toggle options during operator usage via the highlighted shortcuts:

 ![sp-modal-status](https://blenderartists.org/uploads/default/original/4X/b/4/a/b4a6fcac6e6e93c7cc0099e112115882e3fefa2e.png)

**Plus full written documentation, now available at 👉 [https://docs.select-pro.hugemenace.co](https://docs.select-pro.hugemenace.co)**

Even though Select Pro is now considered stable, our backlog is full of tasks covering new features, enhancements, and quality-of-life improvements that will roll out over the next few updates. This includes updates such as pie menu support, collection-based predictions/operators, additional modes, more sophisticated object and mesh analysis, and a bunch more!

As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts! If you have suggestions for new features, enhancements, or fixes, please reach out.

## Select Pro Version 1.1.0 is now available.

**TL;DR: This version adds the ability to save and recall selections, a new Select Similar Element/Patches (vertex, edge, face) operator, converts Boundary Edge into an interactive modal with more intuitive selection, simplifies the select All/None approach, and more.**

> ⏩ If you own a copy of Select Pro and you’re interested in testing pre-release versions or helping to shape upcoming features, we invite you to [join our Discord server](https://www.hugemenace.co/discord) and reach out to Tristan or Ian.

The most exciting (and powerful) operator introduced in this version is the Select Similar Element operator. This operator scans the mesh for all other instances of the active selection, within tolerance, and by taking the surrounding geometry into account:

![sp-11-similar-face-patches](https://blenderartists.org/uploads/default/original/4X/b/c/2/bc26023048aafa22d13d58b606ac664be0a2f53d.gif)

It’s incredibly flexible and works across all edit modes: vertex, edge, and face, allowing you to quickly make selections that would otherwise be complicated and/or tedious:

![sp-11-similar-edge-patches](https://blenderartists.org/uploads/default/original/4X/7/a/4/7a4088a3c679a3cc279a20f19e152a3cd828ede2.gif)

By popular demand, we’ve also introduced the ability to save and recall selections across all of Select Pro’s supported modes (Object, Mesh, Curve, Armature, and Pose):

![sp-11-save-recall-selections](https://blenderartists.org/uploads/default/original/4X/d/6/f/d6fd30ab1969efe4269115d140d736ab2207b102.gif)

**Full changelog for Version 1.1.0:**

**Features**

- Add quad-continuation detection to Smart Edge Select to run Blender’s native loop select over contiguous paths
- Add Select Collection operator (select all objects in the collection or focus the collection root)
- Add Select Similar Element operator (vertex, edge, and face) with associated predictions and double-click options
- Add vertex, edge, and face loop (Blender native) options to the double-click dispatch
- Add Smart Select Toggle (on by default), replacing the separate All and None pinned items
- Add save and recall selections across all supported modes via the main menu
- Convert edge boundary operator into a modal operator for interactive surface or open-ended boundary selection

**Bug Fixes**

- Ensure lengths displayed in modal operators account for the None unit system (plain Blender units)
- Fix null-selection bug with the Select Vertices by Proximity operator

Maybe this could help, from the add-on preferences:

</div>

Select Pro assigns a key binding to the **A** key and enables left/right mouse double-click functionality across all supported modes. As Sorn has demonstrated, these settings are configurable in the preferences (easily turn off any you don’t want). It will not delete or disable any of your existing keymaps 🙂

Select Pro is quite flexible. For instance, if you’ve set up a custom key binding (or it comes from another add-on) for double-click in Mesh Edit mode for an operator you often use while in face mode, but would still like to use Select Pro’s double-click operators for vertex and edge mode, you can simply set face mode to “Do Nothing.” This will allow the event to pass through to any other key binds you have configured.

# Select Pro v1.3.0 is now available

Hey everyone,

**Select Pro v1.3.0** is now available, bringing several powerful new selection tools and full UV Edit Mode support.

For tedious patterned selections, we’ve introduced a new specialized operator: _ **Select Element Pattern** _. It works across all mesh edit modes (vertex, edge, and face) and makes it easy to reproduce both simple and complex selection patterns.

![pattern_a](https://blenderartists.org/uploads/default/original/4X/5/e/0/5e07738f8aec4af5aa14c262c210e69456d4aa74.webp)

![pattern_b](https://blenderartists.org/uploads/default/original/4X/f/a/c/fac69dfa4aa4e6d2aac406429a447cd1576db7ff.webp)
