Select triangles with area over a threshold?

Is there a way to select triangles (faces) that have a certain area? Or say, the largest 10% of faces in a mesh?

There is no such selection tool - but I think it’s easy scriptable.
Also it will be nice to have selection based on the nuber of the sides of the face.

Currently you can select faces that have close areas and close perimeters. That is executed by pressing Shift+G in face select editing mode.
