select w/ LMB, why is emulated 3 button mouse disabled?

When switching to select with LMB , emulate 3 Mouse button is disabled , I wonder why ?

Since I’m using a wacom pen , this option is useless. When I select with RMB; i can pan and rotate and move the view with alt+ctrl and mouse clicks.

but with select LMB I can’t navigate the 3d view anymore. rendering this option useless. even when I find selection with LMB way better than selecting with RMB:

I completely agree with you aermartin. I’ve had that same problem. As far as i can tell it’s just one of those things that they never fixed for whatever reason. But it doesn’t really make sense does it.
