Selecting a face

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a key which is used for selecting a face. I am trying to model a “head” and would like to select a group of four vertice points without having to shift+RMB on each point individually. I am also familiar the Lkey but that’s not quite what I want.

Cheers.

In Object Mode hit F-key (face select mode), RMB will select faces, TAB for editing.
To select a different face you have to leave edit mode.

Great. V good. Another question… I am having some ahem fun trying to model this “head”. When I go to add vertices to my profile I find the front view has vertices in the wrong place. I believe this is something to do with having my cursor in the wrong position. Should I be doing curs > sel or something like this to made sure vertices always go where I need them to?

Having just loaded my 100th forum post I was amused to see I have now become a “guru”. I am pretty sure I am far from this tag

That would be the safest way to position your cursor yes. BTW, one need only two orthogonal view to make sure that the 3D cursor is in the right place, which can be any combination of two among top, bottom, left, right, front and back

Don’t worry about that. It may even happen that overenthousiastic people call you a God from time to time. You may be called worse too, sometimes almost in the same breath. Though it out : after some more posts you will be rewarded by being demoted to the status of monkey.
