Selecting time period on Timeline

Is there a way of selecting a time period in the timeline (in order to delete keyframes in a certain part of it)?

I tried a lot of key combinations but I can’t figure it out! I tried looking at the blender.org explanation, but it is not obvious whether or not this is possible :http://www.blender.org/development/r…237a/timeline/

If you want to select keyframes in a frame range why not graph editor or dopesheet
You can select a preview range in the timeline with P+LMB drag

Goto to the dopesheet and use ‘B’ to box select your key frames… then do with them as you wish…
