Selection not work properly in certain workspace [Blender 2.81]

Check the following thread. In a post by Cirno he explains something about bugged workspaces causing crashes when doing undo. Perhaps the problem is related:

2.81a version sometime "crash" when i do undo?

I haven’t experienced crashes myself, but then again I’m using 2.82 dev (which got some undo related commits) on an M.2 drive. Bastien has been working on a branch known as undo-experiments, in it he is working to make undo operations faster and more stable.
