First I modeled the basic topology just to get the bulk down

Then I used the sculpt tools to get the shape closer to correct, also began playing with the hair, I’m not liking the brows

Heres a render with the specular and bump maps, there mostly tests, I’ll keep working at it

That’s awesome qwed88… looking fantastic already!
Very cool:yes:
One of the most realistic beards i’ve ever seen on a 3d model
I will have to post a better view of the reference images, latter today, but what do you think about the size of the eyes? I had comment on another board saying that the eyes should be smaller in proportion to the head. I’ve followed the ref image, maybe my eyes are just wierd?, but I think there is some distortion in the images, which I’m not sure how to correct?
Awesome job, really nice and the eyes look right to me.
The eyes could be slightly wide, but only because you’ve pointed it out. They are not outside normal variation size. I would say the iris circle is a bit small. One can affect the look of the other.
I’m currently trying to get the skin right. I’ll need to rework the beard, can’t seem to find the right settings for it. I also plan on modeling a tshirt.
-need to figure out how to get the hairs to not look like their floating above the skin, also need more of them
-lip color needs toned down a bit
-eyebrow texture seems to have disappeared, I tried using hair to them but it came out looking strange

I received an email yesterday from someone wanting to know if their students could see the files for a face I had modeled a few years back. I no longer had those files but I decided to create the start of a very simple mesh based off of this face. I don’t know that it will be of any value to anyone but I’ve decided to post it here also.
I think for now this is finished. Maybe I will come back to this after I’ve had more experience with the hair.
I’m kinda liking the black and white version better.

wow, you are great at this project, the portrait looks completed
the bw is better you can see that you tightened up the brow the mouth and the contour of the cheek.
