I have modelled a wall with one mesh being a stained glass window. I have a really good texturemap for it, but I would like my stained glass to be semitransparent and lit from behind with a lamp, so it glows.
How can I do this?

F5 just set alpha to less than 1 AND THEN SET ZTRANP
render and it will be trnasparent

Dont forget to apply what RickyBlender writes to the specific vertex group you need your transparency on…
show up the mesh for this
and be carefull here you cannot assign transp to vertex group only to mat index
