Sequencer Snapping?

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if it is possible to snap to different clips in the sequencer, when you are moving the in / out points / the whole clip… instead of snapping to a frame increment.

Cheers

Shift s snaps any selection to play indicator.

Real sequencer snapping would definetly be nice though, that I gotta agree. Would make the grab feature much more useful than it currently is.

@3pointedit , thats what i am doing atm, im page upping/downing to the next cut, then shifts to snap to it… but to me, that feels a bit of a long way around, especially coming from final cut pro, where you can do the snapping based on edit points.

does anyone know where we can submit usability requests to blender?

Have you checked the functions of the addon Sequencer Extra Actions? It has some ripple delete and select functions that could ease the way. But no snapping that I know off.

If you simply want to have two clips edited seamlessly together, once you made the out point on the first clip and the in point on the second, you can drag the second clip partially over the first. This should make the outline of the clip red, but when you click to place the clip, it will snap back to the end of the first clip.
Also works other way round, dragging over the first half of a clip will snap the selected clip just before the one on the layer.

@nemoDaedalus: Thanks for this tip! I, at least, wasn’t aware of this. Will definitely become useful in the future.
