this is a scan of a drawing that’s on my bedroom wall. Sorry … it was too big for the scanner & I couldn’t scan it upright
PS: now that I’ve gotten the hang of this … alooohaaa posting

how about putting all of your work into one thread?
why? separate posts mean separate comments … which is good.
Don’t take this the wrong way but you could try learnig anatomy and proportion…try http://www.polykarbon.com; anime stuff but you’ll learn proportions…OR try browsing for anatomy here:
highly discouraging … but if that’s the truth … it’s the truth … mustn’t give up … mustn’t give up … This is the more painfull as this is the problem that has always bothered me … and I was actually reading & trying to follow direction from polykarbon when I did this.
thanks for the opinion though. How do you measure proportions? Where exactly did it strike you as most wrong?
greets
No! dont be discouraged!
criticism is good. draw it again, once you have learned some more about proportions. I’d concentrate on the head and shoulders first.
Dont stop! you dont get better by being discouaged. Cativo is doing you a favour by showing you where to start working.
rock on!
hmmm … thanks … well … hope I’ll do better in 3d … I did quite a lot of drawing & stuff … but it was alway VERY hard for me to draw something I saw, something not out of the imagination … I suspected that it was because I couldn’t see 2d … I kept seeing 3d & from multiple views (seeing with my mind)… whcih doesn’t render itself nicelly on drawings … which are all about projections, proportins, what you can and can’t see …
thanks for the encouragements though
I personally like the proportions on this character, makes him look more demon/evil like.
The only part that really bugs me is his right arm, seems like there is too much shortining or the upper arm due to how its posed (his arms are really long so make it come down more, and if anything have the lower arm aimed more upwards)
nice, keep drawing
aaa … the wonderfull world of art … where one might love & another might hate your stuff … that’s why I initially set myself on programming (much safer for a living, I figured, and then I’d be able to do the art stuff too) … but well … I keep being drawn back here
I myself kinda like the character .. well, sure he's not perfect ... my main objection is his left hand .. that it's too straight (the palm) ... and hir right hand looks somwhat weird too ... however I do like the claws, some of the shadows .. & especially how the hair/feet fire came out .. and the face/figure :P
figured him for the kind of 'servant' that's stronger than his master, doing his dirty work .. and that even his master kinda fears :P
wow Cativo, amazing site.
…as for the drawing, well, not the best thing I ever saw (and I never been to the luvre), but a bit practice will make it much better.
Hey Anarky, hope I didn’t sound too harsh! What do I see as misproportioned? : The head is too small, making the torso look bigger(not necesarely stronger)
About drawing: Be patient! It takes time and practice! try different way of drawing a proportioned body: The human male is about 7-8 heads tall, woman’s is 6-7.5…I think anyhow you can make the legs a bit longer(anime) and it will look fine!
Hang in there! everyone starts there!(I’m stuck along the way )
wow Cativo, amazing site.
hope you didn’t that’s my site!
here’s mine(the drawing section) http://www.geocities.com/cpcativo/sketch.htm
