Setsmooth error

When I apply setsmooth to my model I get a wierd display error as shown in the picture, but when I render, it is fine. Any idea why this happens and how to fix it? It makes it a bit tricky at times to edit the mesh with these stripes on it.[/i]

Go into edit mode and select all your verts. Then recalc your normals with CTRL+N.


I am not sure if this is the same problem, but I noticed that I get black faces in solid mode (not shaded mode) even though my normals are correct and there are no doubles.

It even happens on primatives, like a uv sphere. I think it is just a openGL bug, since when I rotate my view, it sometimes dissapears.

Annoying though.
