I decided I would practice messing around with the blender game engine, and after following tutorials on youtube and other places, I found out that no matter what I try, even if it is exactly step-by-step, I am not able to control my camera when starting the ‘game’. player.blend (487 KB) is my file. I was hoping maybe there is just something small I missed that someone would be able to point out to me, because I’ve tried but haven’t been able to figure it out.
I posted this a day or two ago, but I still haven’t been able to figure out how to do it. Does anyone know?
Okay, so I don’t think anyone understands quite what I was asking for, but I came to an alternative way of doing it. In case anyone else is having the same problem I was, I added an empty above the player. Then, after parenting the camera to the empty, and the empty to the camera, I just used logic blocks using the keyboard’s up and down arrows to adjust the rotation (using simple motion) of the empty (why in turn rotated the camera because of being parented). It’s not quite what I was wanting to do since I was wanting to use the mouse, but it helps at the moment so that I can move on to other things in the project.
