Setting up eyelashes/eyebrows for animation

I’m using the hair particle system to generate the follicles, from seperate emitter meshes. Now I need to use shape keys to close the eyes and wiggle the brows around, how do I get the seperate meshes to follow? Probably I should set this up completely differently. I don’t mind redoing it if I need to, it’s not that hard.

Just use hooks that are vertex parented to the actual face mesh on the emitter meshes . Whatever animations/shapekeys will transmit to the emitter meshes from the face mesh .
